Natalie Bennett to appear at the People's Question Time tonight

9 October 2014

Green Party Leader Natalie Bennett is speaking tonight alongside comedian and activist Russell Brand and Mark Serwotka, General Secretary, Public and Commercial Services Union, at the sold-out People’s Question Time event in east London.

Bennett and the other panelists will address pressing questions including:

*Can we save our NHS from privatisation?

*What's the alternative to austerity?

*Why is there always money for war?

*What happened to social housing?

Ahead of the event, which will be streamed online at http://www.thepeoplesassembly.org.uk, Bennett said:

"The People's Assembly Against Austerity is fulfilling two critical roles.

“It is leading in presenting the fact that austerity is a failed policy that is making the poor, the disadvantaged and the young pay for the fraud, risk-taking and errors of the bankers, while rich individuals and multinational companies are not paying their way.

“And it is encouraging a vital step towards repairing our failing democracy, encouraging communities to think of politics as something you do, not something that is done to you."

The event is organised by the People's Assembly Against Austerity.
