Miriam Kennet

Miriam KennetCllr Miriam Kennet is a mother and local business woman. Miriam: 

  • is founder and Director of the Green Economics Institute
  • is editor of the International Journal of Green Economics
  • is a member of Mansfield College Oxford University
  • is a member of the Environmental Change Institute

She lectures and writes in Europe, including in Switzerland, Brussels, Germany, France, Poland and Spain.

Miriam Kennet is a Local Councillor

Miriam joined the Green Party in 1981. She felt the other parties were failing to tackle important social and environmental issues such as:

  • poverty
  • climate change
  • mass extinction of other species

Miriam wants to make a difference on these issues at a local and national level.

She is active in local issues and has been a member of Reading Green Party for many years. She is their speaker on economics, industry and employment.

Miriam Kennet Effective Campaigner 

Miriam has run a successful campaign to get green economics adopted in Europe. This provides the best solution for the current credit crunch and downturn in the economy. Green economics would also create thousands of new jobs.

Her campaign has been published all over the world.

Miriam has made green issues and green economics an exciting new tool for a new kind of prosperity.

She has been taking part in Redefining Prosperity with the Sustainable Development Commission (an independent government watchdog).
