Accessibility at Conference

We want all members to feel welcome, included and catered for at Conference.

The venue
Address: Manchester Central, Windmill St, Manchester M2 3GX
We are using the Charter Foyer entrance, which is sensor-activated and has a Paxton Intercom for assistance from the Control Room if required.

Parking and Blue Badge spaces
There is an NCP car park below the venue, which has 15 payable disabled spaces on the Upper Level with lift access to the venue. Car park info including costs here.
Blue badge parking is also available near the venue on Mount Street.

Accessible toilets
There are x accessible toilets across the venue, all of which include emergency pull cords.
There is a Changing Spaces toilet in The Junction.
To access the toilets, you will need a Radar Key which can be collected from our concierge desks.

Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome at the venue and water will be provided.

British Sign Language Interpretation
If you are profoundly deaf and registered to attend Conference you can request BSL for the plenary sessions. Please email conference@greenparty.org.uk. The deadline for requesting BSL is 21 August.

Creche
There will be an on-site creche at Conference for children aged 1-11.
The creche is free for any member who is registered to attend Conference.
If you would like to book your children into the creche please fill in the online form.
The deadline for registration is 28 August.

Hearing Loops
There are fixed Induction Loop facilities in Charter Foyer (our registration area) and the Exchange Auditorium (our plenary hall). In addition, we have requested that temporary loops be added to all our breakout and meeting spaces.

A Deaf Alerter® fire warning system has been installed throughout the entire venue, compatible with Deaf Alerter® pagers which operate nationally and internationally. There a limited number of site specific Alerters available from our concierge desk.

Prayer Room
The Prayer Room is located in Exchange Lower Foyer.

Quiet Room
There is a quiet room with comfortable seating on the Exchange Lower Foyer.

Transcription
In the plenary sessions there will be live transcription on a large plasma screen to one side of the auditorium.

Wheelchair users
The venue has lots of room for wheelchairs and they have several self-propelled wheelchairs available for use within the venue. To enquire, contact the Event Safety Team on +44 (0)161 834 2700 ext. 2211 or email firstaid@manchestercentral.co.uk.
Bookings should be made in advance as availability cannot be guaranteed otherwise.
