Welcome to Path to Parliament
The deadline to apply for the end of year training weekend is on the 5th October. Find out more below.
This system is failing too many — workers, renters, migrants and the planet. Politics is being dominated by short-term interests, while the voices of ordinary people go unheard. We say: no more.
The Green Party is building something different: a politics rooted in justice, care and courage.
Last year we proved that we know how to win MP seats, winning all four of our targets convincingly. Now we’re recruiting the next generation of Green MPs — people ready to stand up for their communities, work with local teams, and help deliver real change.
Could this be you?

Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to have any elections experience, or even be a member yet. We are looking for people who:
- Are team players and value shared success
- Are open to learning, listening and growing in the role
- Can connect with diverse communities, media and supporters
- Have experience — lived, work, or campaigning — in public, social or environmental change
- Work effectively with diverse groups to achieve shared goals
- Are willing to represent themselves and the Green Party’s vision in public
What’s involved?
Standing as a Green MP candidate means leading from the front in a team-based, high-energy campaign. To give a quick snapshot you’ll be:
- Motivating voters one to one and building relationships in the community
- Working with local teams to inspire and organise volunteers
- Speaking at events, engaging online and with media
- Representing Green values clearly and confidently
It’s demanding, but you won’t be doing it alone. We offer training, mentoring and guidance at every stage — including via our Candidate Outreach Scheme.
We are especially keen to hear from people from backgrounds under-represented in politics — including people of colour, disabled people, women and LGBTQIA+ people — and are committed to offering support, guidance and encouragement.
Some candidates may be encouraged to stand in a different, more winnable, area to the one they live in
