Brighton & Hove Green Party is recruiting a part-time Party Administrator. The Administrator will work 16 hours per week, mainly in our office near Brighton station*, as the first point of contact for enquiries from members and non-members. Other duties will include providing administrative support to an energetic and enthusiastic set of party officers; acting as the central point of co-ordination for campaigns, events and party activities; recruiting and supervising volunteers. With less than 2 months to go until the Euro elections the South East team are looking for extra administrative support, in particular to help coordinate the campaign and campaign bus tour for the final 6 weeks of the campaign. This will initially be London-based but is proposed to include significant travel for the final 3 weeks of the campaign. Experience of social media is also desirable.
The job role will include:
Reports directly to the Lead Euro Candidate and the SE Green Party Chair.
The candidate must be ready to start work immediately.
The role is currently 15 hours per week but the candidate should expect this to increase and flexibility is required. In particular, this role will include the preparation of the pre-election bus tour from 6-22 May 2014 and it is expected to become full time with significant travel with the bus across the SE region during this period.
The role will initially be based either at the Green Party National office in London EC2A 4LT, or may be carried out from home if the applicant has adequate home-office facilities. it may include significant travel to other locations, particularly from May 6th.

The post is offered on the basis of a contractor offering services to the Confederation of SE Green Parties; pay will be £11 per hour for a 35 hour week and an allowance for bus duties and the contract will run until Friday 30th May 2014.

MAIN AIMS / OUTLINE OF THE ROLE:
As the Green Party prepares for next 18 months of high profile campaigning and increased electoral success the development of our digital systems and websites are of paramount importance. The successful applicant will be able to manage our drupal site, work with CiviCRM (our database system) and be able communicate effectively with staff and regional parties. They will have proven experience of managing a website and database system for an organisation, ideally a charity.
