Timetable

What happens at Conference?

At this stage, we only have an outline conference timetable for 3-5 October. A more detailed version will be available in June. In the meantime, you can see the timetable for last year’s Conference to get an idea of what happens over the three days.

Over the three days of Conference, there will be:
Panel discussions on topical subjects with external speakers
Fringe sessions covering a wide range of interests
Training sessions for members to get elections ready
Plus opportunities to meet our new Leaders, post the summer’s Annual Ballot
Socials and receptions and much more.

What is a panel? what is a fringe?

  • Plenaries – where we debate and vote on motions and reports in the agenda.
  • Workshops – sessions where the detail of motions can be gone over prior to plenary debate. These are mostly held as online evening meetings in the week before conference.
  • Fringes – sessions of general interest to the membership, not directly linked to policy-making. These can be led by members, staff, or external organisations.
  • Panels – topical discussions with invited external speakers, hosted by elected reps or party spokespeople.
  • Hustings – where you can find out more about the candidates in committee elections
  • Training – skill learning sessions open to all members, activists and officers
  • Meetings – of Policy Working Groups, Special Interest Groups, other groups

Call for Chairs

We are always looking for members who are interested in acting as workshop reporters and facilitators, plenary chairs/co-chairs/assistants. The aim is to create a strong and diverse pool of volunteers who will be offered a clear pathway to plenary chairing with support, training, and sharing of best practice.

Submit your information to be considered for the pool
