You might be asking yourself what a Management Coordinator is and what makes someone qualified for that position? Often, internal Green Party governance can seem strange, mysterious and opaque, but it doesn’t have to be this way!

We are running as a job-share for this position, because we know what it means to prioritise good governance, value for members, and protecting institutions and accountability. This is not a “nice-to-have”, but a necessity to ensure the Green Party can win millions more votes, and dozens more seats at the next General Election.

But how will we do this?

Melanie is twice elected by her region to GPRC, and has twice been elected as co-chair. As friend to the management coordinator, the leaders, the chair of GPEx and DC she has an excellent understanding of the GPEW governance structures and processes. She has experience of policy drafting & management as part of a governance role at senior level within various public sector organisations.

Dylan has experience working in governance and democracy for a large member organisation with over 30,000 members, and is on governance committees for an NHS Trust and major professional accrediting body. They are experienced in interpreting and supporting policy implementation and using best practice governance method; something sorely needed in the party.

If you want a combination of experienced management and stewardship, and the vision to make our party a fighting force for the next General Election, vote #1 for Melanie & Dylan.

Efallai eich bod yn gofyn i chi’ch hun beth yw Cydlynydd Rheoli a beth sy’n gwneud rhywun yn gymwys ar gyfer y swydd honno? Yn aml, gall llywodraethu mewnol y Blaid Werdd ymddangos yn rhyfedd, dirgel ac aneglur – ond nid oes rhaid iddo fod felly!

Rydym yn sefyll fel swydd-rannu ar gyfer y swydd hon, oherwydd ein bod yn gwybod pa mor bwysig yw rhoi blaenoriaeth i lywodraethu da, gwerth i aelodau, a diogelu sefydliadau ac atebolrwydd. Nid yw hyn yn “braf cael”, ond yn hanfodol i sicrhau y gall y Blaid Werdd ennill miliynau yn fwy o bleidleisiau, a dwsinau o seddi ychwanegol yn Etholiad Cyffredinol nesaf.

Ond sut fyddwn ni’n gwneud hyn?

Mae Melanie wedi cael ei hethol ddwywaith gan ei rhanbarth i’r GPRC, ac wedi ei hethol ddwywaith fel cyd-gadeirydd. Fel ffrind i’r cydlynydd rheoli, yr arweinwyr, cadeirydd GPEx a DC, mae ganddi ddealltwriaeth ragorol o strwythurau a phrosesau llywodraethu GPEW. Mae ganddi brofiad o lunio a rheoli polisi fel rhan o rôl llywodraethu ar lefel uwch mewn sawl sefydliad sector cyhoeddus.

Mae gan Dylan brofiad o weithio mewn llywodraethu a democratiaeth ar gyfer sefydliad aelodaeth mawr gyda dros 30,000 o aelodau, ac mae ar bwyllgorau llywodraethu Ymddiriedolaeth GIG ac elusen achredu broffesiynol fawr. Mae ganddynt brofiad o ddehongli a chefnogi gweithredu polisïau, gan ddefnyddio dulliau llywodraethu gorau posibl – rhywbeth sydd ei angen yn fawr ar y blaid.

Os ydych chi eisiau cyfuniad o reolaeth a gofal profiadol, a’r weledigaeth i wneud ein plaid yn rym ymladd yn Etholiad Cyffredinol nesaf, pleidleisiwch #1 i Melanie & Dylan.

I would be delighted to continue as Management Coordinator on the executive having been involved in much of the vital behind the scenes work – on finances, financial risk, capitations, and important policy development. Work that is essential to enable the party to continue growing and winning, and for it to take advantage of the current unprecedented political opportunities available.

In addition to this work, I have extensive experience in school governance, including as chair of governors, and was chair of a local community development group for 3 years. These roles have involved community engagement, staff recruitment, disciplinary and grievance processes, and reviewing and amending HR policies and I have been thanked by senior leaders for steering and supporting staff through periods of enormous stress and turbulence. I have undertaken detailed Governor Safeguarding Training for Children and Safer Recruitment training, and managed serious safeguarding concerns as safeguarding governor.

I trained as a doctor and have also worked in various different health organisations including hospital trusts, a regional NHS office, primary care trusts and a medical school. Safeguarding and mental capacity were central to my clinical work and my work coordinating services around teenage pregnancy prevention and support. After leaving clinical practice I worked for many years across two regions evaluating hospitals’ compliance with the New Deal for Junior Doctors Hours and established an induction programme and mentored subsequent recruits to this new role. Analysing data and reports, including performance data has been central to my professional life as has been the importance of examining potential risks associated with current and proposed plans.

Smooth governance and effective management has to be a supportive foundation from which the party can flourish and meet its political objectives unhindered. I hope my colleagues would describe me as a hard working team player with an attention to detail who is not afraid to ask difficult questions when they’re needed.

With a relatively new CEO in place and the entire executive being elected in one go, ensuring continuity on the important issues I’ve been involved with to date should help GPEx to hit the ground running in Autumn This will allow it to push forward with improving governance and most importantly, the offer and services we provide to our members and local parties. I would therefore love to continue using my skills and experience for the benefit of GPEx and the party as a whole, to help take the party to where the planet and our communities need us to be – holding the balance of power.
