The role exists to represent the members and to further the achievement of the Green Party’s objectives generally and specifically through ensuring a strategic approach to Green Party publications which accords with the party’s broader strategy.
The Candidates
David Lloyd
The opportunity for the Green Party to win big has never been clearer.
To take this opportunity we need communications that reach new audiences, turning supporters into members and members into activists.
This is why I’ve stepped up to volunteer for Publications Co-Ordinator on GPEx.
I’ve spent the last 10 years helping brands publish digital content that sells. Now, I want to get more people to vote, donate and believe in Green politics.
As a Politics graduate and decades-long Green Party member, I truly believe this role would bring my passion and experience together.
Here is my plan if elected:
- Create a digital platform for activists and members to post high quality content, driving traffic to our website
- Be held accountable by the membership, GPEx and the GPRC
- Develop more written output during local and national elections
- Work closely with Internal and External Comms to ensure integration across GPEx and staff
- Work hard to improve the quality and reach of Green Party publications, especially digital
Together, we can modernise our publications without the need for expensive investments, long lead times and jargon heavy language.
Using our strength – our members, voice and passion – we can deliver our diverse message an drive our party forward into the next elections.
I ask for your support in electing me as Publications Co-ordinator.
Edward Milford
I was elected to GPEx in 2023, and I am re-standing for the position of Publications Coordinator in 2025.
The Party has achieved a lot over the last two years, and GPEx’s role behind the scenes in enabling this has been critical. We now have four MPs and around 850 councillors – a real step change in our national profile. During this time GPEx has also made important steps in improving the financial health of the Party.
There is still much that is pressing for the next GPEx to do; our finances – while improved – remain precarious. Our IT systems in particular need significant investment, and a canvassing tool is an urgent requirement. We also need to address both the working environment and the conditions for staff.
I have over 40 years of experience in publishing, much of it running an independent, international, environmental publisher, and currently serve on several company and charity boards as a non-executive.
I have been a member of the Party for 25 years. I’m currently Chair of Herefordshire Green Party. Along with many other people I was deeply involved in the inspiring campaign that saw us win a Parliamentary seat in North Herefordshire. This illustrates clearly that a carefully-planned, sustained and well-organised campaign with wide appeal can produce a significant result! Before moving to Herefordshire 10 years ago, I was active in Camden Green Party, among other things seeing us win our first ever seats on the Council there in 2006.
With a new Chief Executive just arrived, and every post on GPEx up for election, some continuity will be important – and I hope to be able to provide that.
